The Book of Jonas {A Book Review}

I think I've mentioned a time or two that I love reading. Over the past few months I've gotten hooked on the Stephanie Plum series, which are fun, carefree and very easy reads. As much as I've enjoyed them, I needed a story with a little more meat to it.

The Book of Jonas is probably not one I would have picked up on my own, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. It's the story of a Middle Eastern boy sent to America after his family is killed during an errant U.S. military operation that flashes between the past and present as Jonas struggles to adjust to his new life and come to terms with what happened in his own.

 This is a chilling story that will change your perspective on how both military and foreign families are affected by war. You will be hooked from the beginning and will be shocked by the ending. If you’re looking for a book that will cause you to think, I encourage you to pick up The Book of Jonas by Stephen Dau and join the BlogHer Book discussion.

 {Abilene friends, let me know if you want to borrow my hardcopy.}

disclosure: I am being compensated to review this book but all opinions are my own!
